JOB SUMMARY
Transit Operations provides safe, reliable and courteous transit services and excellence in customer service delivery to 100 million transit customers per year, by means of conventional bus, para transit and rail operations. The Bus & Para Transit Operations team provides safe, reliable, efficient, effective, on time, courteous and cost-effective rapid transit service to a growing and diverse City of Ottawa.
You work independently and are responsible for the daily processing of all ATU bus operators, dispatchers and relief instructors’ work schedules. You monitor and apply all contractual pay allowances and ensure all booking procedures relating to hours of work and work selections are adhered to.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Completion of 2 year community college diploma with a focus in finance, business administration, accounting or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll or time administration preferably in a transit environment. Experience should include working with collective agreements in the interpretation and application of pay procedures. Previous supervisory experience is an asset.
KNOWLEDGE
- In depth knowledge of general and daily booking processes and all spare boards booking rules and procedures
- Computer proficient (MS Office)
- Full understanding of system changes such as WMS, R3, SAP Time Recording & Evaluation and payroll process
- Knowledge of the SAP time administration system relative to its acceptance of the various WMS systems’ pay hours
- Detailed understanding and application of the ATU collective agreement, spare board booking rules and procedures, organization polices and the general booking process and the time administration exception based processes
- Knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation, including the rights and duties of workers

- Language Requirement: English oral, reading, writing
