JOB SUMMARY
The mandate of the Transit Customer Systems and Planning Service is to provide customer service, service planning, and technology and control systems support for OC Transpo, geared to providing excellence in customer service delivery to 100 million transit customers per year by means of conventional bus, para transit and rail operations. Transit Customer Service is responsible for delivering a broad range of program areas and services related to Marketing/Branding, Sponsorship/Advertising, Customer Service, Information, Fare Sales and Operations, Community Relations, and Internal Communications.
Under the general direction of a manager or supervisor in Customer Service, you update OC Transpo web information by adding content, improving page layout, and creating and incorporating web graphics and videos to the website.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Post-secondary Student - completion of second year college or university in Web Development program / Web graphics program / Computer Science
Minimum of 8 months but less than 1 year of related experience is required
KNOWLEDGE
- Must be very familiar with CSS, PHP, HTML, XML; knowledge of SVG is an asset.
- Must have knowledge of web design software such as Flash, Dreamweaver/Web Expression, graphic software such as Adobe Photoshop and video editing to create videos and skins to view on website; knowledge of Illustrator is an asset.
- Ability to provide addresses of websites developed, either for personal use, school or business, is an asset.
- Must be familiar with all applicable health and safety legislation, have knowledge of any potential or actual danger to health or safety in the work place, and have knowledge of appropriate actions to be taken in order to ensure the health and safety of staff in accordance with applicable legislation and City policies and procedures.
- Work with a digital camera and camcorder is an asset.

- Language Requirement: Various language requirements, locations may require English only, French only OR Bilingual competencies. Some positions require English oral, reading, and writing. Some positions required French oral, reading and writing.
