JOB SUMMARY
The mandate of Traffic Services is to provide traffic operations, road safety, traffic investigations and all traffic management in the City of Ottawa.
You perform standard traffic engineering field studies such as queuing studies, delay studies, travel times runs, volume counts; investigate complaints about traffic signal timing; and assist with the maintenance of the traffic engineering data base used by the Integrated Traffic System of the City of Ottawa.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Post-secondary Student - completion of second year college or university in any field of study
Less than 4 months of related experience is required

- Patience
- Work with minimal supervision
- Work overtime and long hours when needed
- Work in all weather conditions
- Access to reliable, efficient transportation for use in the performance of job duties is required
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- Language Requirement: Various language requirements, locations may require English only, French only OR Bilingual competencies. Some positions require English oral, reading, and writing. Some positions required French oral, reading and writing.
- Driver’s License Requirement: A valid Ontario unrestricted G class driver’s license (or provincial equivalent) with no more than 6 demerit points accumulated
