JOB SUMMARY
Applications Management is responsible for planning and managing the full lifecycle and day-to-day delivery and operations of multiple, complex enterprise-wide applications, web applications and services, and over 170 business-specific applications managed by Information Technology Services for use by specific client departments, the corporation and/or the public.
Under the direction of a Project Manager in Applications Management, you work as a team member on a number of client server based applications to support internal client requirements at the City.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Post-secondary Student - completion of first year college or university in Computer Science or related field
Minimum of 4 months but less than 8 months of related experience is required, including courses in school, 6 months of experience in the computer/systems field
Software development experience is an asset
KNOWLEDGE
- Knowledge of Windows based development techniques; any of the technologies below, web applications, client/server architecture, and database design is an asset.
- Technologies used include Microsoft Visual Studio.NET, PowerBuilder, Oracle Internet Developer Suite, Cognos Tool set, Web graphics tools, SQL, MS-Access, Visual Basic, MS Office, Windows 95/98/NT/2000/XP, SQL Server, and Oracle 8/9i, SAP
