JOB SUMMARY

The mandate of Information Technology Services is to create business value by providing innovative and strategic technology solutions for the business operations of the City of Ottawa.

Under the guidance of a supervisor in the assigned unit in Information Technology Services, you work as a team member performing various activities associated with the support of the City’s use of computer and telecommunications technology.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Post-secondary Student - completion of first year college or university in Computer Science or related field

Minimum of 4 months but less than 8 months of related experience is required including experience in the computer/systems field

COMPETENCIES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Works well with work team
  • Requires little supervision
  • Works well with clients
  • Ability to move/lift computer equipment.
  • Ability to work at different City facilities.

  • Language Requirement: Various language requirements, locations may require English only, French only OR Bilingual competencies. Some positions require English oral, reading, and writing. Some positions required French oral, reading and writing.
