JOB SUMMARY

This job is for use in the Business Support Services (BSS) Branch.
The Business Support Services (BSS) Branch is responsible for providing business support through a centralized branch that consolidates and streamlines the delivery of specialized business supports and services to an assigned department, and standardizes where feasible. The dual mandate of the BSS is to provide key business knowledge and capacity to support policy, project management and a number of administrative functions to General Managers and operational Services and Branches within the Department, and to support the City as a whole by working collectively and collaboratively to enhance operations and support corporate-wide initiatives.  

You are responsible for leading or undertaking complex departmental or branch projects assigned to the BSS, providing project management services including defining project scope, preparing project documentation, and leading an assigned project team.

You also lead and undertake the development and evaluation of corporate and departmental administrative policies and programs assigned to the BSS, and provide expertise to management and staff in the application of the policy development process, and the interpretation and application of policies, procedures, guidelines and service standards.  

You also: support performance improvement services for the modification, development and evaluation of policies, procedures, processes and service standards; support the departments Stakeholder and Relationship Management Strategies; lead or coordinate assigned corporate programs and initiatives, in accordance with corporate direction, and represent the department.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Completion of 4 year degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or related field

Minimum of 4 years of experience in the planning, development, communication, implementation and evaluation of policies, programs, processes, projects, and performance improvements

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENCES

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is an asset
