JOB SUMMARY

The Fleet Supply Chain and Operational Support Branch provides fuel and automotive and general stores services, provides operational support related to all fleet management programs, ensures M5/Assetworks (Fleet Management Information System) is aligned to and provides the information needed to enable fleet operations and decisions, and ensures that the City’s parts provision meets service and performance standards. 

You are responsible for the development of cost recovery models and for the development, on-going review, monitoring, analysis, maintenance and reporting of the Fleet Services operational, performance information and cost recoveries from clients (other departments or external customers).

You will collaborate with Finance staff in ensuring the requisitioning and payment of goods and services, monitoring/reconciliation of expenditures, cost recoveries, and resolve problems

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Completion of 4 year university degree in Business Administration, Commerce, etc. 

Minimum of 3 years of related experience, preferably in an integrated municipal financial billing, cost recovery business application  

KNOWLEDGE

  • Business analysis practices, techniques and report writing 
  • Proficiency in spreadsheet, graphics, word processing and data retrieval applications 
  • General ledger system and financial sub-system interfaces, month end reconciliation practices, audits, checks 
  • Financial billing/business cost recovery practices 
  • Knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation, including the rights and duties of workers

COMPETENCIES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Team player able to work in a multi-service, multi-disciplinary enviroment;  
  • Research, identify and analyze operational, financial and performance data, identify issues and problems, develop practical solutions to problems 
  • Develop operational, performance models using various software (Excel, SQL Developer,  SAP, MS Word) 
  • Implement new processes related to fleet cost recovery business model 
  • Use information systems tools to support business functions 
  • Write comprehensive reports, and present findings 
  • Work under minimum supervision and meet tight deadlines; 
  • Demonstrate strong analytical, interpersonal and customer service skills; 
  • Effective oral and written communication skills 
  • Organized, thorough, reliable and demonstrates initiative 
  • Exercise judgment, tact and discretion
