JOB SUMMARY

Operational Support provides operational support services to the Public Works department, including implementing and maintaining the SAP and Maximo mobile technology solutions, effective management of Service Requests from residents, developers and contractors, and integrity and maintenance of data entry activities into the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) as well as reporting.

You are responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to the Roads & Parks Operations Support unit.
 

The Infrastructure and Water Services Department is responsible for implementing city-building priorities from planning and delivering infrastructure projects, managing assets and investments, and providing residents with high-quality drinking water, the collection and treatment of wastewater, and ensuring storm and surface water is efficiently managed. Building a better Ottawa for all to enjoy, today and into the future.

You are responsible for providing administrative and operational support to various branches across Infrastructure and Water Services Department.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum age of 16 years is required for Summer Student jobs

Student must be returning to school in the fall

High School Graduate

Minimum of 4 months but less than 8 months of related experience is required - Client services and clerical / office work and experience
    

 

KNOWLEDGE

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel & Outlook)
  • SAP
  • Records Management Information System (RMIS)
  • Must possess experience and knowledge to organize the work
  • Must be familiar with all applicable health and safety legislation, have knowledge of any potential or actual danger to health or safety in the workplace and have knowledge of appropriate actions to be taken in order to ensure the health and safety of staff in accordance with applicable legislation and City policies and procedures.

  • Students must supply own CSA-approved work boots to wear when entering the garage at the work yard

  • Language Requirement: Various language requirements, locations may require English only, French only OR Bilingual competencies. Some positions require English oral, reading, and writing. Some positions required French oral, reading and writing.
