JOB SUMMARY

The Business and Technical Solutions unit is responsible for the overall design, planning, development, customization and/or integration of e-business and other applications/solutions or special technical projects in response to business requirements or legislative changes; the provision of technical support to the Policy and Business Operations Branch’s internal and external clients; and processing print requests, mail and coordinating courier services for all City of Ottawa departments.

Under the direction of the Team Lead, Mail & Print Solutions, you assist in the provision of mail services and printing services to clients throughout the City of Ottawa.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High School Student

Less than 4 months of related experience is required

Must have some related experience, including:

  • Sorting, delivering, and picking up mail;
  • Delivering office supplies;
  • Using hand carts and other material-handling equipment;
  • Completing various office duties.

KNOWLEDGE

Knowledge of, and familiarity with, general office procedures

COMPETENCIES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Good inter-personal skills and a willingness to learn;
  • Good computer skills, including MS Outlook, Word and some Excel;
  • Ability to read and write quickly;
  • Ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs

  • Language Requirement:Various language requirements, locations may require English only, French only OR Bilingual competencies. Some positions require English oral, reading, and writing. Some positions required French oral, reading and writing.
