JOB SUMMARY
The mandate of Information Technology Services is to create business value by providing innovative and strategic technology solutions for the business operations of the City of Ottawa.
You are responsible for designing and leading the implementation of solution architectures for the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Renewal SAP S/4HANA Modernization initiative. This spans SAP-specific business applications in the areas of Record to Report (R2R), Procure to Pay (P2P), Enterprise Asset Management (EAM), Supply Chain Management (SCM), and Hire to Retire (H2R), aligning with enterprise business strategy, capabilities, and requirements.
You work in close collaboration with cross-functional teams that include Business Analysts, Developers, Basis & Security Administrators, Solution Analysts, Project Managers, Business Leads, Internal & External integration partners, Program Managers and Technical Architects, to guide the design, development, and deployment of scalable, secure, and sustainable SAP solutions and integrations. You will provide technical leadership, guidance and oversight to the development team, performing code reviews, validating technical designs and performing quality assurance checks.
You act as the lead technical resource and advisor for a broad range of projects to develop solutions in one or more technical competency areas such as SAP S/4HANA and SAP/Non-SAP SaaS/PaaS solutions. These solutions leverage SAP technologies including ABAP, ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP), SAP Fiori/UI5, SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), Authorization & Security, Embedded Analytics, OData services, SAP WorkZone, and SAP Integration Suite.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Completion of 4 year university degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field
Minimum of 6 years of related experience with specific experience in the relevant technical competency area including software/application development and integration
KNOWLEDGE
- Expert knowledge of technical competency area and applicable software/related tools (add specifics to job poster)
- Understanding of and experience working with Agile methodologies
- Experience utilizing DevOps methodologies and associated tools (add specifics to job poster)
- Experience building QA test strategies and using automated tools/techniques
- IT Service Management principles and standards
- Understanding of business relationship management
- IT security principles and standards
- General knowledge of City programs/services, operations and business processes
- Knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation, including the rights and duties of workers

- Strong communication skills, including the ability to write and verbally present information
