JOB SUMMARY
Ottawa Public Library (OPL) provides accessible, innovative library services across the City of Ottawa, tailored to the unique needs of its diverse communities through a client-centred approach and a variety of service delivery channels.
Within this context, the Library Planning Consultant plays a key role in supporting service design initiatives by providing research, analytical, and writing expertise, while assisting with project scheduling, coordinating cross-departmental activities, and helping to define, document, and action key deliverables.
Through this work, the role actively contributes to the development of user-centered solutions and service improvements that reflect the needs of both internal departments and external interest holders. Strong communication skills are essential, including clear written and verbal communication, effective meeting facilitation, and the ability to present and report to all levels of the organization, as well as to external interest holders, partners, and community groups.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Completion of 4 year university degree in business or public administration, social sciences or related field.
Minimum of 3 years of related experience in planning projects and/or strategic initiatives, preferably in a library or municipal setting.

- Knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation, including the rights and duties of workers
