JOB SUMMARY
Laboratory Services provides laboratory testing services for drinking water, solid wastes, effluents, receiving waters and ground waters.
You provide administrative and technical duties for sample login, sample tracking and client liaison for the Laboratory Services unit.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Completion of 2 year community college diploma in Laboratory Technology or related science
Minimum of 2 years of related experience in a laboratory environment or similar field
Completion of required health and safety training

- Microsoft Office
- Cognos Impromptu, MOE EDWIS, LIMS, WaterTrax, WIES, Industrial Waste Interface
- Quality Assurance/Quality Control principals and standards
- Health and Safety legislation

- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Ability to read, interpret, understand and explain water distribution policies and procedures including municipal by-laws
- Strong data entry, retrieval and keyboard skills

- Ability to operate basic office and telecommunications equipment including fax machines photocopiers, computer, printer and email
- Ability to interact effectively with management, staff, and persons external to the Corporation

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- Language Requirement: English oral, reading, writing
- You may initially be paid 95% of your starting rate of pay, in accordance with the collective agreement.
- Experience and formal training combined with demonstrated performance and ability may substitute for stipulated academic requirements.
