JOB SUMMARY
Transportation Engineering Services is responsible for the coordination of technical reviews of road design and development applications with a focus on transportation issues and the overall prioritization, coordination, concept design and implementation of the Network Modification Program, Intersection Control Measures program and the management of Development Review initiated roadway modification applications. 
You are responsible for providing engineering expertise and project management related to the review and approval of land development transportation requirements and design/utility circulations, the development and design of congestion relief mitigation measures, and the implementation of transit priority, cycling, pedestrian, traffic calming and roadway infrastructure.  
You: ensure road designs meet accepted engineering standards; undertake environmental assessment studies; deliver and monitor traffic management studies; oversee operational analysis for network modification, delay analysis/queuing studies and safety investigations; and deliver technical and financial scoping for project implementation.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Completion of 4 year university degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering
Minimum of 5 years of related experience in a transportation engineering environment with demonstrated supervisory and relevant practical experience

 - TAC Road Safety Audit procedure
 - City's Transportation Impact Assessment Guidelines and Development Approvals process
 - Road safety engineering and human factors concepts
 - Project management techniques and planning tools
 - Engineering planning, geometric design, traffic operations, traffic control signals, and construction/rehabilitation of roadway systems
 - Developing and setting Terms of Reference, RFPs and the process for managing external contracts
 - Protocols for preparing reports, briefings and public consultation, and responding to senior management/councillor inquiries
 - Corporate/department policies and procedures
 - Must possess the training, experience and knowledge to organize the work and its performance
 - Knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation, including the rights and duties of workers

 - Driver’s License Requirement: A valid Ontario unrestricted G class driver’s license (or provincial equivalent) with no more than 6 demerit points accumulated
