JOB SUMMARY

The mandate of Information Technology Services is to create business value by providing innovative and strategic technology solutions for the business operations of the City of Ottawa.

You are responsible for providing business and configuration analyst activities associated with the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Renewal SAP Modernization initiative. Key responsibilities include analyzing and defining integrated business processes, configuring SAP applications to support those processes, performing system and testing, documenting test results, and maintaining application functionality to ensure ongoing operational effectiveness.

This role requires subject matter expertise in SAP, particularly within the SuccessFactors suite and its integration with SAP ECC. Functional expertise includes modules such as SuccessFactors Recruiting, Onboarding, Employee Central, and Learning, with a primary focus on Human Resources and Payroll processes across both SuccessFactors and ECC environments.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Completion of 3 year post-secondary education in business administration or related discipline, or a field that is relevant to the job (e.g. Geography in the GIS group).

Minimum of 5 years of experience; experience using an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) application or Enterprise GIS application in a municipal environment is preferred.  

  • For SAP: Business experience in accounting, human resources, payroll, maintenance management, procurement, materials management or sales distribution
  • For GIS: Business experience in specific areas of the organization’s business lines such as public works, urban planning, engineering, environmental studies, public health, emergency services, or transportation. 

KNOWLEDGE

  • ERP or Enterprise GIS application and configuration tools
  • System methodologies including requirements definition, functional design, implementation
  • Project management methodologies
  • Quality assurance procedures
  • Business analysis practices and techniques, and report writing techniques
  • Application administration

 

FOR SAP:

  • Business practices in one or more of the following disciplines; human resources, payroll, accounting, maintenance management, procurement, materials management or sales distribution

 

FOR GIS:

  • Business practices in specific areas of the organization’s business lines such as public works, urban planning, engineering, environmental studies, public health, emergency services, or transportation.
  • Knowledge of, and experience with, ESRI software and emerging GIS technologies is desirable
