Posting Details

Successful candidates may be hired in one of four (4) intakes per year, which align with the Ontario Police College training dates.

Required Qualifications

  • Meet the minimum hiring standards.
    • Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
    • Be at least 18 yrs of age.
    • Successfully completed a High School Diploma or equivalent. 
    • Possess a valid full G Ontario Driver’s License or Provincial Equivalent.
    • Be of good moral character.
  • Valid PREP certification (physical readiness evaluation for police) required at application. 
  • Adhere to the minimum standard of hearing and vision requirements.
  • Be able to pass a security clearance as well as a background investigation, credit and reference check. 
  • Complete Standard First Aid and CPR-C prior to hire.

In service Training

Successful candidates will be required to attend the Ontario Police College in Aylmer, Ontario. For more information check out our website FAQ.  Candidates will be required to attend the Ottawa Police Professional Development center pre and post OPC.

Hours of Work

Must be able to work all shifts as designated in the hours of work section.
The incumbent is required to work hours commensurate with a 24 / 7 shift schedule in order to meet operational requirements of the section, between days, afternoons ,evenings and/or nights (including Statutory Holidays).

Effort and Working Conditions

This position will require officers to work in adverse weather and uncomfortable conditions.  It can require officers to sit or stand for long periods of time without relief.
