The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) is committed to expanding the scope of its membership so that it can better-serve a growing and more culturally diverse population in the Nation’s Capital.
As part of its commitment to Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI), it introduced an Action Plan in January 2020, that implements an EDI lens on everything we do, from hiring to training to deployment so that we can better-support and better-serve the city’s Black, Indigenous and faith-based communities in the city.
As a member of the OPS, your contributions to building public trust in our duty of care will help to create an inclusive and responsive police service that both the community and our members deserve.

Training & Development

The Ottawa Police Service provides all members with the most current training available right here in Ottawa. Training may occur within the section you work; working one-on-one with a trainer at our Professional Development Centre (PDC) or other learning centres throughout Canada and North America. We never stop learning at the Ottawa Police and that is how we keep the community and you safe.
