JOB SUMMARY
The Community and Social Services department is responsible for creating a strong social infrastructure by providing support to families and individuals in need to promote their self-reliance and quality of life, and in collaboration with community partners. This includes providing financial assistance, housing, childcare, employment, and long-term care.
The Social Policy, Research & Analytics Services team strives to increase the collective well-being of the City of Ottawa by unlocking the value of data. Our team looks at how we can leverage our existing and corporate strengths to better use data across our service areas.
Intermediate systems development and integrator you will join a passionate, technical, and data-driven team that is motivated to improve the availability, consistency, and accessibility of data within and across CSSD service areas. You will be responsible for development, test and deploy solutions using the Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Automate, Power App) tools to support social services professionals across the City of Ottawa.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Completion of 3 year university degree or college diploma in information management, information technology, or related field.
Minimum of 3 years of progressively more responsible experience in applications development and/or integration.
Microsoft ASP .Net version 2003, 2005 Web or higher versions and .Net Framework 1.1 and higher is desirable
VB and C# .Net programming languages is desirable
Oracle RDBMS 9i and higher is desirable
Oracle Internet Developer Suite is desirable
Oracle Application Server Technologies is desirable
Oracle SOA Suite is desirable
PL/SQL for creation of procedures and packages is desirable
XML is desirable
Development using Microsoft Office Suite tools is desirable
Development using SharePoint tools is desirable
PowerBuilder version 6.5 to 8.0 is desirable
MS Access 97 and higher is desirable
ColdFusion is desirable
System Development Life Cycle is desirable
n-tier Architecture Design is desirable
Unit, regression and load testing is desirable
Test plan creation is desirable
Configuration management is desirable
Creation of technical and non-technical documentation is desirable
Power BI, Power Automate and Power App development is desirable
KNOWLEDGE
